BIO

From Science to Clinic - From Clinic to Science

Alli obtained his degree in Physical Therapy in 1990 from the Rijkshogeschool Groningen. From 1991-2001 he worked as a physical therapist in the United States and Germany. Upon return to the Netherlands, he obtained a degree in Sports Physical Therapy from the Utrecht University of Applied Science in 2003. In 2005 he started on his PhD project at the University Medical Center Groningen, Center for Rehabilitation. Alli has a special interest in motor control after ACL injuries.
He is currently working on a post-doc track with a special focus on development of prevention programs designed to reduce incidence of ACL (second) injury rate and associated occurrence of osteoarthritis.

Years of Experience

 RESEARCHER UNIVERSITY GRONINGEN 

2005 - present

Alli started working on his PhD in 2005, next to a full-time job as a PT clinic owner with a staff growing to more than 45 people. This show his perseverance. Finally, in 2015 he received his PhD. He is currently working on a post-doc track with a special focus on development of prevention programs designed to reduce incidence of ACL (second) injury rate and associated occurrence of osteoarthritis.

PHYSIO CLINIC

2001-2017

Starting of as an employee in 2001, Alli joined a physiotherapy clinic in Gromingen, the netherlands. In 2006, he becamo one of the partners and from 2015 he was in charge of the executive committee.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

1991-2001

Alli worked 10 years abroad as a physical therapist. Five years in the US and 5 years in Germany. This has expanded both his professional but also his personal horizon.
